Your eyes are the most striking feature of your face, so it’s important that you emphasize them as much as possible. Mascara is one of the most versatile make-up tools you can use; on their own they look great, and they give your eyes more oomph when worn with eyeshadow. When applying mascara, hold your eyelid taut by putting a finger on the middle of your lid and pulling it up. For short eyelashes, use lengthening mascara; if you have thin eyelashes, use volumizing mascara. Those with sensitive eyes and contact lenses should wear gentle mascara. Finally, waterproof mascara is best for rainy seasons.

Another great tip is to zig-zag mascara wand up the lash from base to tip – this helps to coat every lash and separate to avoid clogging.

To apply to top lashes without mess, tilt your head back. With bottom lashes, tilt your head forward slightly. This really does help to keep the mascara wand away from your skin and onto your lashes only!
