When you shampoo your hair, you wash out and remove other impurities from your scalp and hair. To do this properly, brush your hair and remove the tangles before you start shampooing. This will prevent your hair from breaking or falling off due to tugging. It’s better to use warm water rather than hot water since warm water does the trick of effective cleansing.

The amount of shampoo you should use depends on your hair length. A dime sized dollop is enough for short hair; for medium hair, you need a nickle-sized amount. Salon shampoos are more concentrated than other commercially available shampoos so you should use smaller amounts of these.

Massage the shampoo in for three minutes, using slow circular motions. Follow it with a conditioner.
